Together for Good Trips and Events
Together for Good promotes opportunities for do-it-yourself volunteer vacations, but we also occasionally lead group trips that focus on giving back, meeting new friends and having fun. Our group trips take place at both land-based resorts and at sea. Check back frequently for details on upcoming trips.
Cruise Trips
Cruise-based volunteer vacations are easy for individuals, families and large groups. These floating hotels offer extensive shipboard amenities and visit destinations filled with exciting activities and a variety of voluntourism options. There are numerous opportunities for combining philanthropic work with interesting shore excursions in each port of call.
Many cruise itineraries include ports where volunteer activities are possible. For example, we were able to weave in a number of shoreside volunteer activities on a Western Caribbean cruise earlier this year. Excursions included:
- Philanthropic work with children at schools and orphanages
- Cultural exchange and assistance with local community projects
- Visits to ancient Mayan ruins
- Watersports and relaxation at Caribbean beach clubs
- Shopping for handmade crafts and souvenirs

Resort Trips
Resort vacations readily lend themselves to giving back and helping others. From a resort home base, one can easily combine philanthropic excursions with day trips and tours. Destinations in countries such as Jamaica, Mexico and Honduras provide countless opportunities to mix giving back with fun, adventure and camaraderie. You'll return from your vacation with new friends and fond memories of the many ways you've helped others on your trip.
Together for Good has taken several volunteer-oriented trips to resorts throughout Jamaica, Mexico, Belize, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. Excursions have included:
- Visits to underprivileged schools and orphanages
- Philanthropic work with community-based non-profit organizations
- Providing assistance at child care centers, hospitals and health agencies in low-income communities
- Cultural exchange and assistance with local community projects
- Zip-line canopy tours through the jungle
- Snorkeling in the clear Caribbean Sea
- Dolphin encounters
- Boat trips to explore phosphorescent bays, waterfalls and other sites
- Cave tubing
- Relaxing beach days
- Shopping for souvenirs and handmade crafts

Tweet-Ups for Good SM
In addition to voluntourism trips, Together for Good also promotes networking and media events that have a philanthropic component, such as giving back to community organizations with significant needs or benefits for local charities.
A Tweet-Up for Good SM event is done in combination with a hotel, cruise line, resort or destination, combining marketing and networking with the goal of giving back to others. These events benefit travel partners through increased promotion, media coverage and market positioning while also assisting local charities and community organizations. Tweet Up for Good SM events connect three key trends: marketing and promotion through social media; togethering with friends; and the growth of voluntourism/doing good as an important part of one’s life experience.
